One, Is One Too Many

The JPMF’s One, Is One Too Many campaign promotes the message that workplace safety for emergency services personnel is a shared responsibility – because one preventable death is one too many. Emergency services personnel have high risk jobs but when a community works together, many of these risks can be minimized.

Safety Video: Put Yourself in Our Boots

Think your workplace is safe? Turn off the lights, trigger the alarm and put yourself in the boots of emergency services personnel (ESP), who could be at your premises after hours, in unfamiliar surroundings with poor lighting and stressful circumstances. Your workplace is their workplace . . . is it safe?

Public Service Announcement:
Make Your Workplace Safe For Everyone

This PSA is a highly emotional and personal message that uses John’s on-duty death, which was the result of a preventable fall, to communicate to the public the importance of making workplaces safe – both for a company’s own employees and also for emergency responders who may have to attend the premises after hours.

Public Service Announcement:
SLOW DOWN: It’s No Picnic Out Here

Since 1990, over 800 emergency services personnel in Alberta have been injured or killed while attending to emergencies on the road. And there have been countless near misses. In partnership with other stakeholders, the JPMF coordinated the production of this PSA that addresses the issue of motorists speeding by emergency roadside scenes – and not giving emergency responders room to do their job.
