Put Yourself in Our Boots receives 4 Rosie nominations
The John Petropoulos Memorial Fund (JPMF) is pleased to announce that it’s Put Yourself in Our Boots workplace safety video and public service announcements have been recognized by the Alberta Film & Television Awards, also known as the Rosies.
The JPMF received a total of four Rosie Award nominations. All three Put Yourself in Our Boots public service announcements – Police, Fire and EMS – are finalists in the ‘Best PSA’ category. There are a total of six nominations in the PSA category and the JPMF has half of them. The Put Yourself in Our Boots 10-minute safety video is also a finalist in the ‘Best Educational’ category.
The Put Yourself in Our Boots 30-second TV spots began airing across Canada on Global TV and Shaw Cable Systems in February. Channels airing the PSAs include TLC, A&E, Spike TV, CNN, CNN Headline News, AMC, Spike, Speed, Golf, BBC World, Fox News, Peachtree, MSNBC, CNBC, Bloomberg, NFL Network, Big 10 Network and the Game Show Network. The PSAs have aired over 90,000 times on TV and they’ve been viewed over 10,000 times online.
Trevor Smith directed the PSAs and safety video, which were produced by Joe Media Group. The PSAs and safety video are part of the JPMF’s Put Yourself in Our Boots workplace safety campaign. The campaign’s mission is to reduce preventable injuries and fatalities and promote workspace safety for emergency responders – because their workplace is every place. The 36th Annual Alberta Film & Television Awards will be handed out on May 15th at the Edmonton Expo Centre.
