Tax time is here again and with the deadline approaching to file tax returns this serves as a good time of year to remind people about the benefits of making a charitable donation.
First, there’s the obvious: you’re supporting a good cause.
In the case of the JPMF, our safety initiatives help ensure that first responders – including police, firefighters, medics, two truck drivers, etc. – make it home safely to their families after every shift.
Our public service announcements, safety videos, safety presentations and other resources raise awareness and educate the public about workplace and traffic safety issues facing emergency responders. And, in making changes that make your workplaces and roads safer for these vital workers, you’re also making conditions safer for everyone else.
The other major benefits of donating to your favourite charity are the tax advantages. Tax credits vary from province to province and state to state, but the returns are often very generous and provide much needed tax relief.
The JPMF was officially registered as a charitable organization with the Canada Revenue Agency last year and as a registered charity we can now issue official donation receipts. Our charitable registration number is 80727 5870 RR0001. Individual and corporate donations are welcome and you can also support us by becoming a sponsor or a volunteer. Learn more here about how to support the JPMF.
In the meantime, good luck with your taxes and contact us any time about sponsorship, donation and volunteer opportunities.
