The John Petropoulos Memorial Fund is once again pleased to be helping out at the Calgary Police Half Marathon, which is taking place on Sunday, April 28th.
We will be hosting a water station for the runners in South Glenmore Park and we’re looking for volunteers to help mix Gatorade, fill cups with water and hand out beverages to race participants.
Help is also needed with water station setup and keeping the site clean. No previous experience is required and volunteers are needed from 7:30 am until 11 am.
Volunteers are asked to meet in South Glenmore Park, just north of the intersection of 90 Ave. and 24 St. S.W. Parking is available near the water station.
As well, we encourage helpers to dress appropriately. Even with the warmer weather lately, the temperatures can drop in the morning. And it’s Calgary, so the weather conditions during the race can range from sunny to snowy to rainy and windy or all of the above. Please bring gloves, toques, warm coats, etc.
If you have questions, please contact volunteer coordinator Ian Wilson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 403-891-4269.
