Maryanne Pope
Married to John and now the JPMF’s Board Chair, Maryanne is a writer and lives in Calgary, Alberta.
Joel Matthews
A Staff Sergeant with the Calgary Police Service, Joel Matthews was a classmate and friend of John Petropoulos. He was one of the founding members of the John Petropoulos Memorial Fund and now serves as a Director of the JPMF.
Cliff O’Brien
Cliff O’Brien is a Staff Sergeant with the Calgary Police Service and he also serves as a Director with the JPMF. Another founding member of the Fund, he was a good friend and classmate of John’s.
Glenn Laird
Glenn Laird was also a founding member of the JPMF and a recruit classmate with John in 1996. Glenn has worked in the Tactical Unit of the Calgary Police Service for several years and prior to that he worked in Forest Lawn and Downtown. He is currently the JPMF’s Treasurer.
Kristin Atkinson
Kristin Atkinson, a stay-at-home mom with three children, has been friends with Maryanne for over 25 years. She has worked for the Fund as an administrative assistant for years and recently joined the JPMF’s Board of Directors. “I knew John well and am honored to have been doing part-time work with the JPMF for about the past three years,” says Kristin.
Shannon Lyons
Shannon Lyons, a former Board Director, continues to work with the JPMF in various capacities. Shannon lends both her public relations and marketing experience to the Fund. She is still an active volunteer with the JPMF and is absolutely thrilled to be part of the amazing difference it’s making in the lives of emergency services personnel, as well as to the community at large through its important workplace safety initiatives.
Ian Wilson
The Managing Director for the JPMF is Ian Wilson. The Calgarian adds over a decade of media experience to the Fund. When he’s not working, Ian enjoys reading, traveling, playing sports and watching hockey, especially when the Edmonton Oilers and Medicine Hat Tigers are in town.
Neil Gilbert
Our resident Webmaster Neil Gilbert has been involved as a partner for positive change with the JPMF since the Fund became an Alberta registered non-profit society in 2005. His professional imagination is licensed by SAIT Polytechnic and offered commercially through Elbowroom Design, a Calgary graphic and web design studio. Neil lives in Calgary with his wife Lauren. During his time off he enjoys sports, travel, and reading.
